At Homestead Cockapoos, we love our dogs. We are responsible breeders located in Wisconsin, and we feel the Cockapoo is one of the best dog breeds around. There are plenty of information about the cockapoo, us, our dogs and puppies. If you would like more information please contact me by phone 920-927-3887.
The cockapoo is a hybrid. They have been bred for a long time, and the characteristics of the resulting puppies are well established. A true cockapoo must be traceable back to a purebred cocker and poodle. If it can't be it isn't a cockapoo. We use purebred Cocker Spaniels and Poodles in our breeding program. We only produce lst generation or F1 cockapoos. We feel that it is in this generation that the qualities most desirable in the cockapoo are most evident.
They are, on average, medium in size, 18 to 22 pounds, they have low to no shed hair coats that have some wave or curl to them. They come in just about every color. I've posted some pictures below of some of the different colors. The cockapoo is considered to be one of the hypoallergenic breeds. We have sold many to people with allergies and all have done fine.
They make great family dogs, sturdy enough for children, but small enough to fit into today's lifestyles. They are very adaptable. They fit well into apartments or on the farm. We have dogs living in apartments and going for walks and dogs who jog 5 miles a day with their humans. We have dogs that have been trained for agility courses and dogs that have been trained as companions for nursing home patients. They adore the humans in their lives and will adapt well to your lifestyle, be it playing a game of catch or watching a movie. They are intelligent, eager to please and have sweet dispositions.
The cocker and poodle are both fine dogs, but the puppies they produce together are almost magic and they have cornered the market when it comes to cuteness! For more information on this wonderful dog please visit the North American Cockapoo Registry or the American Cockapoo Club.

My husband and I were both born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We bought our 70 acre farm almost 40 years ago. We are located about 60 miles from Milwaukee and about 30 miles from Madison, Wisconsin. We've raised three children here and animals too numerous to mention. All of our children are married and have stayed in the area. We have nine grandchildren ranging in age from 6 to 25. They are all frequent and most welcome visitors here on the farm.
Our 6 acre pond on our farm
stocked with bass and pan fish.
Grandson Adam
caught a big one.
Always a
tire swing.
I have loved animals all of my life, most especially dogs. My mother would gladly tell you "she brought home every stray in the neighborhood." I have always been amazed by their unquestioning love and devotion. The question in their minds is never "what can you do for me", it is always "what can I do to make you happy." When you feel as if the whole world has abandoned you, your dog will be there. When the rest of the world feels that you aren't fit company on that certain day, your dog will be there. From a very young age if it had been up to me there would have been a whole lot of dogs in our home.
We don't assume the roll of veterinarian and our dogs all get regular veterinarian care. We breed our dogs only once a year, if that. They are retired young and immediately if they have any problems. We have done extensive testing on all of our dogs to assure that you get a wonderful, healthy, quality puppy. We can't possibly eliminate all the problems that could occur but we have tried to eliminate the ones we can.
We want all of our puppies to go to loving pet homes. We want everyone to think carefully about getting a puppy but we realize that even the best laid plans can go awry. We do have a welcome home policy and any puppy born here is always welcomed back should you need a home for him.
Often a pony and of course a horse or two.
